The
Hampton Newport News Community Services Board is please to announce the
opening of a comprehensive residential and day treatment program from
pregnant women who are addicted to alcohol and other drugs. The program
has been designed to Promote a range of intensive substance abuse treatment
services developed specifically for pregnant and parenting women.

Pregnant
Women and their children or newborns who are in need of substance
abuse treatment services
in a stable, secure and healthy environment may remain together
in this some-like residential setting throughout their treatment
stay. An Intensive Day Treatment program is also available for pregnant
women and their children who are in need of less restrictive services.
SEFP
is licensed by the Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation
Service and is approved for Medicaid reimbursement. All services
are provided without regard for Race, Creed, Color, Religion. Political
Affiliation or Nation Origin.

Services
Are provided by an array of licensed health and behavioral health care
professionals including physicians, nurses, case managers and therapist.

Program is located at the Capo' Center For Women in Newport News, Virginia

SEFP
was established in September 2000 following an award of $500,000
from the Virginia Dept. Of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and
Substance Abuse Services to H-NNCSB to support perinatal substance
abuse treatment for pregnant women affected with substance abuse.
The Program was established to serve women and children who resided
in Hampton, Newport News, Mid Peninsula Northern Neck, Virginia
Beach, Norfolk, and the WIlliamsburg area.
Residential
services were originally provided through a purchase of service
contract with Serenity House, Inc. located in Newport News, Virginia.
In 2001, SEFP was moved to the Capo' Center for Women on Terminal
Blvd. It is now directly operated by the H-NNCSB. The facility can
accommodate 16 women.
